I always get such a good feeling in my heart from participating in these special events. It is really quite an honor and the gratitude of the family is often overwhelming.
This time it was a priviledge to stand in honor of another of Tennessee’s Heros. Virgil Shelton, of Clinton , Tennessee , died on Monday, August 10, 2009 at his home. Mr. Shelton proudly served in the United States Army from September 14, 1965 to August 30, 1967. He served with the 7th Calvary, Armored Division, Troop C.
Mr. Shelton was also an avid motorcycle rider.
Thank you, Mr. Virgil Shelton, for your service to our country. You have our gratitude and our respect.

It was a great honor to stand for this great man and what he gave to our country…without him and the other brave men and woman of our armed force we would not have been able to show this respect….ETPR is so bless to be able to stand with so many groups to show honor and respect to our Heroes.

I also feel it was a great honor to stand for this Vet. We have stood for many Vet’s over the past years and they never get any easier but I will never pass on any if at all possible. It is one of the greatest honor you can give the Vet. Without his/her dedication to keeping us safe we would not have the freedoms we have today, and hopefully in the future.

Counter Protest of Westboro Baptist Church – Dear Sir, I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but Westboro Baptist Church has confirmed that their members will be in Johnson City, TN on Monday (June 21, 2010 Time: 5:00pm – 8:00pm)to picket the memorial service of Senior Airman Benjamin D. White, an Erwin resident who was killed in Afghanistan last week.
I personally cannot comprehend how people can be so disrespectful towards a funeral service of a fallen service member.
Senior Airman White’s family does not deserve this disgraceful protest while they try to pay their respect and say their goodbyes.
I live in Jonesborough TN, and would love to be there to counter protest myself, however I’m currently deployed to Afghanistan.
Please consider joining the counter protest of the Westboro Batist Church, and allow this fallen hero and his family a peaceful funeral service.
