Are you “Proud to be White?”

There is an email circulating around with the subject line “Proud to be White!  This email claims that during the 503 days between the Travon Martin killing and the Zimmerman verdict, 10,865 blacks were killed by other blacks.  The emails then asks, “can you name one?”

Can you name any victims of white on white murders over the same time period?  Just asking!  Statistically speaking, people kill the people they know; loved ones, friends and neighbors.  Because people of different racial backgrounds tend to live clustered together, they are far more likely to kill someone of their own race than someone of another race.

This email then goes on to claim that the U.S. ranks third in the world for murders, but if you remove Chicago, Detroit, Washington, DC and New Orléans, the U.S. is then fourth from the bottom.  All four of these cities are controlled by democrats and have very tough gun laws, so the inference is clear.

Let’s look at some facts.  images

Black on Black Murder Numbers: 10, 865 Blacks Killed by Other Blacks

The number of black-on-black murders in 2012 is better estimated at 6,002. According to Bureau of Justice statistics, the percentage of total homicides with black victims where the offender is also black has remained stable for years at 93 (As a side note, the rate for the percentage of total homicides with white victims where the offender is also white is 85).  According to FBI statistics, the total number of homicides in 2012 with black victims in the United States is 6,454.  If we apply the historically constant rate of 93 to that number, we get a fairly accurate estimate of 6,002 black-on-black homicides. The first number is what can be proven.  The second number is simply a fairly good estimate.

U.S. murder ranking claim: United States is third highest.

The most correct way of comparing countries is to look at the rate of homicides, or how many homicides there were for every 100,000 people.  According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, in 2012 the U.S had a homicide rate of 4.7.  This rate is not even in the top 100.

By contrast, Honduras  is number 1 in the world and has a murder rate of 90.7, which is almost 20 times higher.  According to the United Nations, the U.S. is even a good bit below the global homicide average of 6.2.  I am not a big fan of the U.N., but you do have to get your global statistics from somewhere, and not just pull them out of thin air.

The email could be referring to the number of murders and not the rate, but even if you look at the number of murders which does not account for population differences, according to the U.N., in 2012 the U.S. is eighth behind Brazil, India, Nigeria, Mexico. Congo, South Africa and Venezuela.

Remove Four cities: United States drops to fourth from the bottom

The email also states that if just four cities with democrat mayors were removed from the tally of U.S. murders, this would plunge the country from third highest to fourth lowest in the murder rankings.

According to the FBI, in 2012, Chicago had 500 homicides, Detroit 386, New Orléans 193 and the District of Columbia 88.  This gives us an actual  total of 1,167 murders.  That same year, the United States had 14,827 homicides.  If we subtract those four cities, the murder total becomes 13,660. This will give us a drop in the homicide rate of 4.35, resulting in a drop of only 3 or 4 spots in the world rankings. This is nowhere near the bottom four. The bottom fourth and fifth spots are now held by Japan and Iceland with a homicide rate around 0.3 per 100,000.

And again, if we use the number of murders and not the rate,  when we remove those four cities, the U.S. would drop only two spots, below Colombia and Pakistan.   The U.S. would still, however, rank in the top 10.

The assertion that democrat mayors and tough gun control laws contribute to the higher murder rates is interesting.  However, not all democrats favor tougher gun laws and, in fact, some republicans do favor tougher gun laws.  Chris Christie comes to mind.

It is clear the cities and states allowing concealed carry do experience a drop in violent crime. Since Illinois started granting concealed carry permits this year, the number of robberies that have led to arrests in Chicago has declined 20 percent from last year, according to police department statistics. Reports of burglary and motor vehicle theft are down 20 percent and 26 percent, respectively. In the first quarter, the city’s homicide rate was at a 56-year low.

Here are some other facts:

Fact: Gun homicides were 10% higher in states with restrictive CCW laws, according to a study spanning 1980-2009.

Fact: Crime rates involving gun owners with carry permits have consistently been about 0.02% of all carry permit holders since Florida’s right-to-carry law started in 1988.

Fact: After passing their concealed carry law, Florida’s homicide rate fell from 36% above the national average to 4% below, and remains below the national average (as of the last reporting period, 2005).

Fact: In Texas, murder rates fell 50% faster than the national average in the year after their concealed carry law passed.  Rape rates fell 93% faster in the first year after enactment, and 500% faster in the second.  Assaults fell 250% faster in the second year.

Fact:  More to the point, crime is much higher in states without right-to-carry laws.

Fact: States that disallow concealed carry have violent crime rates 11% higher than national averages.

Fact: Deaths and injuries from mass public shootings fall dramatically after right-to-carry concealed handgun laws are enacted. Between 1977 and 1995, the average death rate from mass shootings plummeted by up to 91% after such laws went into effect, and injuries dropped by over 80%.

It is also important to note that the murder rate dropped by 17.54 percent between 2005 and 2012.  Kelly Riddell, who wrote an article describing how concealed-carry applications were out pacing ObamaCare applications, said “a July study by the Crime Prevention Research Center found that 11.1 million Americans have permits to carry concealed weapons, a 147 percent increase from 4.5 million seven years ago. Meanwhile, homicide and other violent crime rates have dropped by 22 percent.”

So by all means, be Proud to be White.  I certainly am.  But folks should also be Proud to be Black, Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Eskimo, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, or Jewish!  Take pride in your background, culture and ancestry.  Have the open-mindedness to respect and admire the good things from other cultures, races and ethnicities.  Perhaps most importantly, be Proud to be an American.  This is a great nation with a proud history.  It would be a real shame to lose all that to a handful of race-baiters and Alinskytes!

As usual, your comment plays on the emotions and fears of the uninformed, but has little in the way of fact and reality.  You paint the picture of “Ron Paul conservatives” cruelly turning people away from urgently needed medical care.  Oh …. those cold-hearted conservative bastards!  They make Scrooge look like Mother Teresa! Did you know conservatives eat their young!   Barak Obama, the Messiah … the Holy One …  will save us all from the evil, fascist, chauvinistic, racist, hate-mongering conservatives!

Don’t like spending nearly a trillion bucks on stimulus?  You’re a racist!   Don’t like ObamaCare?  You’re a racist!

Why is it when liberals rant … it is “free speech,” but when conservatives rant, it is “hate speech?”  Need some examples?  Maybe I can find a few …. it isn’t very hard …

Remember when “stupid” Sarah Palin made Rahm Emanuel’s expletive-enhanced use of the word “retarded” an embarrassment for him and the the Anointed One?  She forced the left to live up to its own P.C. standards. Saul Alinsky would have been proud.
 
But I digress ….
 
There will still be millions of un-insured under Obamacare.  The cost for Obamacare has already been revised by the CBO from the original estimate of approx. $900 Billion to $1.8 Trillion … and it will continue to grow. The programs you mention; Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are, themselves, on the verge of collapse; therefore taxes will skyrocket to subsidise them and yet another massive, unsustainable entitlement bureaucratic-nightmare called Obamacare. 
 

Doctors are fleeing the medical field or making decisions to not accept government-based healthcare plans because reimbursement levels are already too low and shrinking.  (I know this because I have several friends who are doctors … and no they are not greedy monsters.  They are normal folks, whose business costs are skyrocketing because of massive paperwork involved with regulatory compliance forced on them by Obamacare). 

Enrollment in medical school is down because not too many students can afford to take on such massive debt in the form of the student loans required to complete a medical degree program … for the dwindling return on their investment. Doctor’s work very hard for their degrees (typically for at least 7 years) and incur a great deal of debt achieving it.  To begrudge them a higher salary than folks who, say,  decided to flip hamburgers for a living or just go on the public dole …  is pretty short-sighted and very small-minded!  

Tell me  … do you begrudge George Soros, Warren Buffett,  AL Gore, John Kerry, or George Clooney their massive incomes?

And yes … even those dastardly, despicable, racist, hate-mongering, tea bagging, slutty, conservatives (who hate autistic children, the mentally challenged, and who want old people to die starving in the streets) want American citizens to have access to affordable, transportable, quality health insurance.  The problem is that Obamacare will not provide that.  It will only bankrupt the country.

I am not a big fan of Ron Paul.  I don’t believe Ron Paul is actually a true conservative.  I like some of his domestic positions, but he is not truly a Constitutionalist.  If you go back to Ron Paul’s early years and his influences, they include a list of folks who detested conservatives and the U.S. Constitution.  Ron Paul mostly uses the U.S. Constitution as a hammer to bash all other candidates on the head.  His foreign policy is to the left of even Barack Obama’s and I feel would be disastrous for this country and the rest of the world.  Isolationist-based  policies have indirectly caused several wars including World War I, World War II, and The Vietnam Conflict.   His roots are, perhaps, slightly less scary than Barack Obama’s;  while Obama is a Saul Alinsky “inspired” socialist, Ron Paul is essentially a Murry Rothbard inspired free-market anarchist.

Sometimes I almost feel sorry for Barack Obama.  Almost!  But then I remember his lies, his radical anti-American political beliefs, and his arrogance … and I wake up.  Obama, because of his radical left-wing, ideologically driven belief system …  truly came to believe he was the “Anointed One;” destined to transform America into a Soros-envisioned model of a global-elitist led utopia .  Fortunately, at least for true conservative, patriotic Americans, Obama truly is in way over his head and really does not have a clue about what he is doing. 

Some of us thinking Americans, who actually did a little pre-2008 election candidate research into Obama’s true history and experience… and did not just swallow the drive-by media’s gushingly, pro-Obama campaign efforts hook, line and sinker, are not surprised.  I still remember waking up the morning after Obama’s election in a state of shock over American voter gullibility and the level to which progressive-liberals will sink to achieve their nefarious political goals.

Think about the facts about Obama’s education, work history, his chosen mentors, and associates:

  • Obama served two years in the U.S. Senate where he simply voted “present” on most legislation being considered by the senate. He was essentially a junior senator with no real federal government experience when he began campaigning for president.
  • Before being elected to the Senate, Obama lost a run for the U.S. House of Representatives and served seven years part-time in the Illinois state Senate. Chicago is famous for its corrupt, back-room deal, politics and being the home of many left-wing political leaders.
  • He made one stirring keynote address at the Democratic National Convention and wrote two autobiographical books, which if you actually read, gave a clear picture of his radical thought processes and anti-American beliefs.
  • Obama held a low-paying job as a community organizer which I think he was probably very good at. However, though well-suited for someone with radical, left-wing beliefs, it was not exactly a high-stress, decision-under-pressure, economically and politically astute decisions that affect the world kind of job.
  • He did worked 11-years as a civil rights attorney with a left-wing leaning law firm. He must have felt out-of-place there, because, civil rights are essentially a list of things the government is NOT ALLOWED TO DO, and Obama wants our government to do everything.
  • Contrary to his claims on the campaign trail, Obama was not a law professor. He was a senior lecturer at the University of Chicago. While a senior lecturer is certainly an esteemed position and due its respect, he was not a tenured professor.
  • He did manage to get caught up in a real estate scandal with a well-known Illinois political “fixer” Antoin “Tony” Rezko who is under active federal investigation.  I guess that counts.

Not a real impressive resume for being president.  Obama did have charisma  … so people liked him and began to talk about him.  He was very smooth; and good at testing the wind and saying what people wanted to hear.  He was even smooth enough that many people ignored his radical views and associations.  But is it really any surprise his policies do not work … look at who he admired and looked to for guidance.  Here are just a few:

  • Saul Alinski: Alinski, considered the father of modern community organization, was a communist organizer and author from Chicago. While Obama plays down Alinski’s  “influence” on his political views and tactics; Saul Alinski’s son, L. David Alinski, says Obama certainly learned his lessons well.  Actions really do speak louder than words, and despite what Obama says in public, many of the political strategies he uses come right out of Saul Alinski’s book, Rules for Radicals.
  • Cass Sunstein: One of Obama’s closest confidants and the head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Sunstein is an animal rights activist/social engineer who wants to set up legal “rights” for livestock, wildlife, and pets enabling them to file lawsuits in American courts.  Sunstein is also a strong opponent of freedom of speech and in a paper he co-wrote in 2008 proposed, “that the U.S. Government employs teams of covert agents and pseudo-“independent” advocates to “cognitively infiltrate” online groups and websites , as well as other activist groups, which advocate views that Sunstein deems “false conspiracy theories” about the Government. 
  • Samantha Power:  Power, a member of Obama’s National Security Council, is an ideologue who believes America should subordinate its sovereignty to that of the incompetent, anti-American, anti-Israel, marxist-inspired, world-government-loving United Nations.
  • John Holden: Obama’s science advisor, Holden is another close confident with rather extreme views like instituting compulsory birth control, creating an armed  international organization to enforce order worldwide, and instituting a “planetary regime” to “control the development, administration, conservation, and distribution of natural resources” in addition to “regulating all international trade.”  Then there is Ecoscience, which calls for severe limitations on economic growth (hmmm … kind of like Obama’s economic policies!).  According to Ecoscience proponents, “It is by now abundantly clear that the GNP cannot grow forever.  Why should it?  Why should we not strive for zero economic growth (ZEG) as well as zero population growth.”

When George Soros discovered Obama, his clever charm,  and his ability to organize the radical fringe of society, he knew he had found his boy!  Soros paraded his “figure-head” out for all to see and the progressive-liberal run drive-by media all felt “shivers” run up their collective legs.   And …  boy did they really do a bang up job on him … setting him up for the fall by portraying Obama as a all-knowing man of the people; a “messiah-like” savior of the country, who would right all wrongs and create a new utopian America; a land of milk and honey for all who wish to suckle at the government teat.  The same left-wing liberal media that has so quickly turned on him … set him up for this fall!   I mean, come on folks, there were even references to a “black Jesus” floating around out there in certain corners of liberal-media-land.  But that is how progressive-liberals work … no loyalty, no sticking to principles, no intellectual honesty; just stick a finger in the wind to see which way it is blowing … and quickly jump on board!

The real problem for Obama was that he actually  began to believe the left-wing media’s Obama love-fest as well as  his own campaign team’s election hype.  He really began to think that just by “uttering the words” he could change the world.  His smile and charm would simply usher in a new era of global compromise; terrorists would simply lay down their arms and sing “kumbaya” with their newly enlightened American progressive-liberal friends, and the wealthy would happily allow his administration to “steal” the money they worked so hard for with their “eat-the-rich” policies … and “redistribute” it to his supporters. 

Obama could apologize to the world for American exceptionalism, for saving France’s ass in, not one but two, two  world wars, for American “misunderstanding of radical Islam and its barbaric “eye-for-an-eye mentality, for defending Muslims in the Balkans, for defending freedom on a global scale, and for protecting the interests of its citizens.  Obama just knew that if he did this, the socialist, communist, and Islāmic nations of the world would knowingly smile on us and all would be well. 

Obama could then remake America in their images … bankrupt, unstable, miserable. equally poor citizens living “by the leave” of the new Obama-led American aristocracy of progressive-liberal elitists; subservient to the government … but culturally enlightened!  Oh how happy we all would be!  He could bow to communist dictators and Arab Sheiks, sit a the table of discussion with no “preconditions” with both terrorists and dictators … and all our enemies would swoon with a “new-found respect” for American weakness.

In a well-orchestrated visual extravaganza, Obama descended from the “Temple” to accept his party’s nomination, his teleprompter led him through one finely crafted speech after another, designed to appeal to “group-think” American “sheeple” and to spur the left-wing radical fringe on to still greater endeavors. 

ACORN, the National Lawyers Guild, CAIR, America Votes, the SEIU, the Apollo Alliance, and the Black Panthers …  supported by the Tides Foundation, the Heinz Endowment, the Ford Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, George Soros, and other “limousine liberals” … all working in “goose-step-like” harmony to install the “Chosen One” as their new leader; the new first black, authoritarian, progressive-liberal, elitist president of the United Socialist States of America.

Conservative, hard-working, patriotic Americans had jsut better watch their step! People who already pay no taxes, and who feel no shame for stealing the hard-earned fruits of someone else’s labors in the name of some subjective version of “utopian fairness” are lined up for their “free Obama money.”  “Useful idiots” will now “spy” on their fellow Americans and dutifully report any racial, anti-Obama dissenters through the  “Obama eSnitch programme;”  have their eyes open … big brother is truly now watching! 

Free health care, free food, free housing, free cars, free green energy, free everything … all paid for by increasing the taxes on the evil rich bastards (who though they pay 90% of all the taxes … still do not pay their fair share).  Those evil rich bastards … who not only had the “audacity of  hope;” but also had the audacity to actually learn, to struggle,  to work hard, to scrimp and save, to invest smartly, and succeed in life … how dare they do well for themselves.  By God, the nerve of those successful Americans … Obama, the “Anointed one,” will punish them for their success!  American is no longer the land of “equal opportunity!”  No siree bob!  It is now the land of  “equality result.”  Equal mediocrity for all!  That is the neo-American dream!!!

 But then … oh crap … enter reality!  Most Americans do still think people should actually earn their money.  Most Americans understand that nothing is really free.  Most Americans actually believe America is a great nation and worth defending from all enemies … both foreign and DOMESTIC. 

Now A News Flash:  Former President Bill Clinton tells NewsMax that Washington should not raise taxes … and that Obama’s plan to increase taxes on the wealthy won’t solve the debt problem.  

How long do you think it will take for progressive-liberals to turn on former President, Bill Clinton, the real first black president?

A Two Party System?

In the past, I have always considered myself an independent voter who most often leaned toward the Republican side of political issues.   That was back when the Republican Party’s platform was built on certain conservative values such as fiscal responsibility and limited government.  However, it seems that over the last decade … or maybe since Ronald Reagan … the Republican Party has losts its focus and has simply become just another version of the same incompetent politicians who currently make up the the leftist leadership of the democratic party.  Both party’s political leadership  simply push their own agendas and self-interests … rather than doing the job we elected them to.

Have you ever noticed that the only real difference between the last Bush administration and the current Obama administration is scale!   Do you remember that popular liberal mantra, “Bush Lied, People Died.”  

Try “Obama Lied, America died” on for size. 

Now … I am neither a Bush fan or a Bush basher.  President Bush did some good things while in office and he kept this country safe for almost 8 years.  He also made some mistakes … all presidents do.  Bush was a moderate Republican and did spend way too much money.  That being said, he did love his country and, though we can argue over his methods in hindsight, he did his best to keep it safe from the threat of Islamic terrorism!

However our new Messiah, Obama, is an altogether different story.  Obama detests what America stands for and is doing his best to change America into a socialist state modeled on his own peculiar vision of  utopia  … a two class society with a benevolent, super-rich, liberal elite running things and everyone else living a useful, lower-middle class life according to the  dictates of the benevolent left-wing elitists. 

That Obama is a product of the radical leftist Chicago machine is nothing new.  Have you read his books?  Do you remember his chosen friends and/or mentors like Bill Ayers (Terrorist), the Reverend Jeremiah Wright (Black Liberation Theology),  Frank Marshall Davis (Marxist), Alice Palmer (Leftist Illinois Senator),  Gregory Galluzzo (Saul Alinsky Protege #1), Mike Kruglik (Saul Alinksy Protege #2), and John L McKnight (Saul Alinsky Protege #3). 

In fact, Obama said that being tutored by McKnight, Galluzzo and Kruglik was “the best education I ever had, better than anything I got at Harvard Law School.“ 

The truth is that behind his charming good looks, winning smile, and charismatic manner; Obama is actually a product of the Chicago political machine; a  power-hungry politician well-schooled in the Saul Alinsky method of community organization. 

Saul Alinsky (a communist) was known as the Godfather of modern community organizing.  He taught his followers to manipulate an individual’s self-interest as a lever to seduce people to support their cause. 

The beginnings of Saul Alinsky’s modern approach to effective community organizing can be traced to the slums of Chicago’s South Side in the 1930s. Alinsky organized the people who lived in the Back of the Yards, a rough neighborhood Upton Sinclair made famous in his book, The Jungle.  It was, as Alinsky stated  later in a interview for Playboy Magazine in 1972,

a cesspool of hate: the Poles, Slovaks, Germans, Negroes, Mexicans and Lithuanians all hated each other and all of them hated the Irish, who returned the sentiment in spades.

That was just what Alinsky needed.  His goal was not to get the people he organized to love each other, just to work together to help him achieve his goals.  Alinsky was once quoted as saying, “to [expletive] your enemies, you’ve first got to seduce your allies.” 

Obama learned this lesson very well and used it to win the 2008 Presidential Election.

Do you ever wonder why, despite the growing mountain of evidence of voter fraud and other criminal activities by ACORN, Obama’s administration officials refuse to invistigate this organization’s activities?  Did you ever stop to wonder how an idiot like Al Franken got elected a U.S. Senator in the state of Minnesota?

So … the Federal Government simply goes on conducting business as usual … bashing the last administration, making itself bigger, voting itself more power, wastefully spending more and more taxpayer money … then coming after still more of our hard-earned money.  They are intruding more and more into our private lives, slowly eroding our Constitutional Rights, and riding roughshod over States Rights.  Nothing has really changed except the scope … and the  speed at which it is being done. 

Liberals used to screech, rant, rave, and yank out their hair when raging about the evils of George Bush … the money spent by the Bush administration. the War in Iraq, the War on Terror, etc. 

However, the Bush administration’s spending is dwarfed when compared to the money spent by Obama in just his first year as president.  And …we are still in Iraq and getting deeper into Afghanistan.  The War on Terror is still on going … we just now call it “The War on Man-Caused Disasters.” 

Where is the screech, ranting, raving and yanking of hair now? 

President Bush passed Stimulus I which achieved nothing … giving each American family about $600 (or a car payment).  Obama passed Stimulus II which,  as it turns out, nobody bothered to read … and incidently, while costing us $1 trillion, has failed to stimulate anything except government growth.  That’s because it was actually a pork spending bill and not a stimulus bill at all. 

The American people might have discovered that truth had this bill actually been read … and not rushed through at breakneck speed (Hey wait … isn’t that happening again … can you say “public healthcare”).

So … we now also have the National Bank of Obama, Obama Motors, … and soon ObamaCare; because,  despite the concerns and questions of the majority of the American people, Obama arrogantly stands at the podium and vows that health care reform will pass this year. 

I guess this is so that nobody will have a chance to read  this legislation either … and discover how bad it actually is!

Patients in countries with socialized medicine already have unbearable tax burders, long waits for routine doctor visits, rationed care, and treatments that are not available because the government can’t afford them.  Why do you think Canadians come to the U.S. for treatment when they have serious health issues?  Why do you think that people in the U.K. who can afford it purchase private health  insurance even though they have “free” healthcare?

So …. what does this have to do with a two party system?

Well, let me tell you!  It is like this … To me there is little difference between the leftist Democratic Party and the current Republican Party.  They have become slightly different flavors of the same political mess.  They have essentially now formed a Democratic/Republican Party.  Thats why I am a member of the Independent Party. 

Just the other evening I was talking on the phone with Mark DeVol.  I had written about Mark in an earlier post on the blog.  Mark is running for the U.S. House of Representatives, Third District, Tennessee in the November, 2010 election.  Mark and I were discussing this very same topic when Mark stated that he strongly believes in the two party system.  He went on to explain saying that he belonged to “the political party that respects the Constitution, the limited role of the Federal Government, the rule of law, and the rights of the individual.”   It is because of this belief that Mark is running as an Independent.  It seems Mark too, is a member of the Independent Party.

In truth, the Democrat/Republican Party has has simply failed to produce any elected officials with the guts and integrity to fight for a return to a constitutionally-based government; or other important issues such as  Securing Our Borders, States Rights, Term Limits, the Fair Tax, Balanced Budget, or Tort Reform.

Mark DeVol is not a politician.  He is a local businessman.  He is an honest, traditional, conservative American.  Like me, Mark believes in the America that was founded on the ideals of  individual rights, individual responsibility, the Rule of Law, and Religious Freedom … the America that we are in real danger of losing if Obama gets his way. 

Unlike Barack Obama, Mark is the kind of man who will try to do what he says he will do if elected.   However, Mark is also a realist … and knows he can’t work miracles.  One man cannot change the government!  However, if we did get Mark DeVol elected … and … if there are other men like Mark DeVol in other states as well;   men who love this country as it was founded;  men not bent on transforming our Country into just  another failing socialist state like France or Sweden. 

What if, using a grassroots approach, we could get some of these other true conservative Americans elected . .. perhaps we could stop this liberal madness … perhaps we could save our Nation from extinction.
